Cleanse your life- a how to guide. . . Part II

Cleanse your life

Cleanse your life

If you saw our last blog, you would have learnt how to cleanse toxins from areas in your environment. Let’s look more in depth at other areas of toxicity.

Congratulations, you’re well on your way to cleansing toxins out of your life but what about those toxic people?  We let toxicity into our lives through people quite often.  Have you ever met someone and found that you get that gut feeling and think “I don’t know if I’m going to like this person”? You’re gut is usually right.  I can be quite a harsh person when you first meet me. I’m often outspoken and yet at other times I can be quiet and reserved. Either way, people can find me quite polarising and are left wondering why I may have shunned them on meeting. Going through my mind and body are messages from ‘my gut’.  I’m feeling whether that person is going to be a healthy person in my life or not. There are some people that I’ve met that are absolutely lovely, but I cannot give them the time of day because I go by my gut feeling. It’s right approximately 90% of the time. When you’ve got that gut feeling, don’t ignore it. This may go for family members too. Tread lightly here, family is often the backbone of your identity. You need to take measures to keep yourself protected whilst still belonging. We all need that sense of belonging but not when it comes at a cost to our health. To clarify, gut feeling is one of those uncanny messages that can come to you at any time. Imagine you’re crossing a road and something tells you not to step into the road right now.  All of a sudden, a bus comes hurtling through (which you couldn’t see on the horizon). Your gut is protecting you. It’s your second brain and does most of the thinking. Yes, it actually does more thinking than your brain does.

So how do we get out of our head? After all, we humans are known for being quite cerebral. Here’s my ten second rule. In my home, if my kids want to tell me something, they have to think about it for 10 seconds.  They have to think is this going to be helpful, useful, emotional or informative; is she actually going to hear my message or is there another way I need to say it. The ten second rule can be used even better with smaller children. It’s a tool that can be used to circumvent a huge drama.  It might be as simple as opening a packet of something in the cupboard. We always have a ten-second rule, think it through first, filter it through your body, filter it through gut, sit with that thought before it comes out. So back to meeting new people, ‘ten second rule’ the situation. Don’t say a word to them after you say ‘hello’. Wait ten seconds, filter the situation through your body and work out what’s going to happen. Size them up while slowing down the interaction and giving your gut a chance to communicate with you. When you meet someone, you need to work out ‘is this person going be a good fit for my life’.  Using the ten second rule can often save you trouble later, if every hair on the back of your neck stands up when meeting someone- walk away.

We live in a fast-paced society and it hasn’t done us any favours at all. We’re getting sicker, we’re getting fatter, we’re getting so caught up in the day to day. Nowadays,  the work routines people have are more than full-time. The work day is often not 9:00 to 5:00 anymore, it’s 7:00 to 7:00. People are coming home exhausted without leave to relax when home. They’re thinking  about the next day, about feeding a family that they hardly see or about what hasn’t been completed in the day. We are working at such a fast pace in our work, home, family and social worlds that we’re not giving ourselves that crucial ten seconds to listen to our gut and we constantly tell ourselves that we are too time poor to do so. Take some of the stress out of that hectic day using the ‘ten second rule’.

The next step is internal toxins we hold in storage. What do we do with them? How do we get rid of them? The biggest constant in internal toxicity are dental amalgams. Having them removed needs to be done in a healthy way and the only healthy removal process is the S.M.A.R.T. technique. Using the S.M.A.R.T. technique is not the only precaution. If your dental specialist says to remove more than one in a month- go to someone else. Dental amalgams are mainly composed of mercury. Mercury is released back into your system unless using the S.M.A.R.T. technique but then, a little may be reabsorbed. Removing one amalgam a month allows your body to detox appropriately. Remember, the mercury load that releases into your body is very highly toxic. If you go to a dentist and they say they can take the whole lot out, they’re not wearing a mask, they’re not putting a dental dam in your mouth and they’re not using a vacuum to pull the mercury out straightaway then they’re not doing it safely. Most of us at some time have known someone who has or maybe we have had metal braces. Ask your dentist if they are titanium as that is one of the only metal compounds that does not leach heavy metals into your body. Remember that the mouth is the first part of the digestive system. Any toxins in your mouth will go straight to your gut (second brain) and you will have problems arising from the toxic overload. Same goes for piercings. If they are stainless steel, gold or silver- they are fine but using inferior quality piercings is a recipe for disaster.
